My name is Michael and the English language is my passion. In my lessons and workshops I aim to make my learners feel inspired in their quest for more effective and refined ways of getting their thoughts and ideas across in a language they may be familiar but not always fully comfortable with. In this endeavour I draw on my extensive experience of teaching English in various countries, including my native South Africa, Thailand, as well as over 20 years of experience of working in the Swiss corporate environment with banks, insurance firms and manufacturing companies.
In my spare time I enjoy immersing myself in geography, history and current affairs. I’m also very interested in travelling and cross-cultural communication. I’m a speaker of several languages and, believe me, I do know the frustrations learners go through when they try to express themselves! Why? Because I’m always in the process of learning a new language!
Over the past 15 years I have been enhancing my academic and professional qualifications to adapt them to the Swiss corporate environment. I set up my own company Executive Language Solutions GmbH in 2012 to be in a better position to meet my clients’ needs more comprehensively and effectively. It’s been a lot of hard work but also a lot of joy and inspiration since.
